Over 19,000 primary school pupils in Ogun State have successfully undergone screening for admission into the state’s 42 Flagship Secondary Schools for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The state Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of both learners and parents during the screening process, which he monitored in Ijebu-Ode, Ikenne, and Sagamu local government areas.

Prof. Arigbabu Accompanied by the Director of Education, Department of Curriculum and Evaluation, Temitope Lasilo, assured that learners in both flagship and other public schools would benefit from conducive learning environments designed to enhance the quality of education.

He urged parents to support the government’s efforts by providing essential items like books, sandals, and uniforms for their children, and emphasized the importance of instilling discipline.

Principals of various schools, including Olusesan Odufuwa of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School (Senior), Oludolapo Lekuti of Adeola Odutola College, Taibat Jimoh of Ijebu Muslim College, and Matilda Olayinka and Olubunmi Osiname of Mayflower School, Ikenne, confirmed the timely and sufficient supply of examination materials.

Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu pledged to introduce transformational initiatives to ensure a smooth academic journey for the students.
