At the Nigeria Police Strategic Forum on School Security in Abuja, Deputy Inspector-General Edeh Ayuba praised the Inspector General of Police for his dedication to safeguarding lives and property. The forum focused on enhancing collaboration among the police, security agencies, and stakeholders to improve school security.
The initiative includes the creation of the Schools Protection Squad (SPS) and involves training State coordinators, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and engaging community leaders and civil society groups. Ekpeji emphasized the crucial role of community involvement in protecting schools and reducing the number of out-of-school children.
