The Osun State University College of Education (UNIOSUN COE) in Ipetu Ijesa recently inducted 199 graduate teachers into the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), reaffirming its commitment to excellence in teacher development.

The induction ceremony, held at the university’s main campus in Osogbo, marked a significant advancement in strengthening Nigeria’s education sector and showcased UNIOSUN COE’s leadership in cultivating the next generation of educators. In her welcome address, Provost Professor Florence Adeoti Yusuf emphasized the vital role teachers play in society, stating that they are the foundation upon which all other professions are built. “Teachers are the unsung heroes inspiring minds and shaping destinies,” she asserted.

The event also featured exciting announcements, including a scholarship for Afolabi Celestina Aderonke, the overall best graduating student, covering her studies from Master’s to PhD level, along with a cash prize of one hundred thousand Naira sponsored by Senator Kamorudeen Olalere. Additionally, six other high-achieving students received cash gifts of N100,000 each for their outstanding academic performance, further highlighting the college’s dedication to rewarding excellence.

Dr. Adeyinka Oluwaseun Kareem, the guest lecturer, encouraged the graduates to utilize technological tools for their ongoing development and creativity. UNIOSUN Vice Chancellor Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye praised both students and staff for their achievements, while the ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates by TRCN Registrar Professor Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye, as Dr. Jubril Busuyi Fakokunde urged the inductees to serve as exemplary ambassadors of UNIOSUN COE.
