A leading cashew facility in Ogbondoroko, Kwara State, has distributed menstrual and personal hygiene kits to workers, school children, and community members.

During the presentation, Outspan Nigeria Limited’s factory manager, Alhaji Idris Ajibade, emphasized that this gesture reflects the company’s commitment to the wellbeing of both employees and the broader community. He highlighted a comprehensive sensitization event on nutrition and health that accompanied the distribution, aimed at promoting holistic wellness, particularly among women and local farmers. “Key discussions centered on balanced nutrition for maintaining energy levels and overall health,” he noted.

Ajibade also stressed the importance of menstrual hygiene, addressing common misconceptions and providing practical advice for managing menstrual health. This initiative created a supportive atmosphere, empowering women to feel comfortable discussing and managing their menstrual health.

Mrs. Bamigboye Christiana, the state program coordinator for the Control and Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases from the Ministry of Health, commended the factory’s efforts in aligning with national health standards. She provided expert insights into nutrition and menstrual hygiene, underscoring the role of health education in empowering women. “Good health starts with awareness, and this initiative marks a significant step towards ensuring women in the factory and farming community are well-informed about their nutritional needs and menstrual health,” she stated.
