The Jigawa State Ministry of Education has issued a warning to private schools operating junior and senior secondary sections without obtaining the required upgrade approval from the ministry. According to a statement by Malam Musa A. Ya’u, Director of Private Schools, these schools risk being shut down for non-compliance.

The ministry has established a committee to visit private schools across the state, focusing on collecting outstanding annual registration fees. The statement called on school proprietors to clear any pending debts before the committee’s visit, ensuring that all operational standards are met.

Malam Ya’u advised unapproved schools to secure the necessary authorization before inspections begin, reiterating that schools found non-compliant with the ministry’s upgrade requirements will face closure.
