The Ondo State Government has ordered the immediate and indefinite closure of St. Louis Primary School, Ondo, in Ondo West Local Government Area, citing persistent violations of education regulations.

The directive was issued by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, who said the school repeatedly failed to comply with guidelines governing the operation of private educational institutions in the state.

According to the commissioner, the decision followed several infractions and what he described as the school’s continued disregard for established regulatory standards, despite prior warnings and engagements by relevant authorities.

Ajibefun explained that the action aligns with the state government’s broader drive to sanitise the education sector and ensure that all private schools operate strictly within the legal and administrative framework of Ondo State.

“The closure will remain in force until the school fully complies with all regulatory requirements and formally recognises the supervisory authority of the state government,” he said.

He advised parents and guardians with children enrolled at the school to comply with the directive and make alternative schooling arrangements without delay.

The commissioner reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enforcing quality control and maintaining acceptable standards across all educational institutions in the state, stressing that no school would be allowed to operate outside approved regulations.
