The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates seeing the message “No Result Yet” while checking their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results are underage applicants whose results have not been released.

In a statement issued in Abuja, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, explained that the message is not due to any technical issue but reflects the eligibility status of such candidates.

According to him, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are qualified to sit for the UTME, except under special consideration.

He noted that underage candidates may still be considered under an exceptional category, but only if they demonstrate outstanding academic performance. This includes scoring 320 and above in the UTME and achieving at least 80 percent in subsequent screening exercises.

Benjamin added that only those who meet the 320 benchmark would be shortlisted and invited for further assessment, emphasizing that the current withholding of results is part of the established admission guidelines.

He further disclosed that the arrangement had been discussed and agreed upon with the parents of the affected candidates.

“For now, results for underage candidates remain unreleased,” he said, urging candidates and guardians to take note of the policy.
