To celebrate World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Avon Healthcare Limited donated free sanitary kits to schoolgirls at Gbara Community Secondary School in Lagos.

The #PurpleLipsChallenge, started in 2019, encouraged women to post photos wearing purple lipstick on social media. For each photo, Avon HMO donated reusable sanitary products to a schoolgirl. Earlier campaigns distributed supplies at Unity High School in Oshodi and Gaskia College in Ijora Badia. This year’s campaign received support from participants worldwide, including from Nigeria, London, Texas, Abu Dhabi, and Toronto.

Avon HMO partnered with Safety for Every Girl, a group focused on ending period poverty, and received help from Heirs Energies, United Capital Asset Management Plc., Afriland Properties, and Avon Medical Practice. Before visiting Gbara Community School, Avon HMO also donated sanitary kits and provided hygiene education at Bright Achievers School in Bariga, Lagos. These initiatives aim to promote menstrual equity and support girls in need.
