Sunday Asefon, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students’ Engagements, has called for comprehensive medical care for students injured in the recent school building collapse in Jos, Plateau State.

The collapse, which occurred at a primary and secondary school in the Busa-Buji community, resulted in 22 deaths and 132 injuries. Asefon also met with the Chief Medical Directors of the hospitals and the Plateau State Commissioner for Secondary Education to discuss treatment progress.

During a solidarity visit, Asefon expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. Survivors are receiving treatment at Plateau Specialist Hospital, Bingham University Teaching Hospital, and Our Lady of Apostles Hospital. He urged the medical staff to provide the best care possible to prevent further fatalities.

He prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and eternal rest for the departed souls.
